In 1929 there was a gathering of George Gilley Bowles' family at the home of his eldest son Arthur Bowles in Lindsay, Ontario.  George had passed away in Midland, Ont. in 1903.  While Arthur and eldest daughter Effie were already married and settled down, his widow, Jane Gilmour Bowles, along with her three unmarried sons Alfred, Stanley and Clarence and daughter Georgina and husband Lewis William Lee had made their way to Fort William, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) by the early 1910's.  By 1929 the Lee family and all three now married brothers were well established in Fort William.  That year an as yet unknown number of them travelled back to Lindsay to visit with Arthur and likely Effie's families.  A number of photos were taken in which we believe we have identified some of the family but help is needed to confirm and/or sort out all of them.

1st Photo  Alf's wife Ethel Bowles with Jane Gilmour Bowles on cruise ship going from Fort William to Midland, Ont.
2nd Photo  Family members on steps of Arthur's house in Lindsay.  Jane is in the chair on the porch.  I believe Arthur is on the back right side of the steps. His wife may be at front left with glasses.

Possibly Effie and husband George Belch and a son and a daughter?  Bertha at top left in the last picture.

1st photo  Bertha in middle of back row   Jane Gilmour Bowles front left
2nd photo    Bertha on the right.  Little girl is Alf's daughter Marion (my Mom)

While in Lindsay, they also visited a garage where someone must have been connected to the family.
First photo is Jane Gilmour Bowles and son Stanley with an unknown woman identified as Ada Wareham.
Second photo is Jane with that same Ada and apparently a mechanic from the garage.  Who are they?

Alfred's daughter Marion with unknown people.  In the last photo Marion is with her future husband Ben LaPorte but the others are not known.

A real long shot, this is a very old faded tin-type print likely from the late 1800's but has been very carefully preserved in an envelope with Alf Bowles' important documents.
