William Bowles of Carlow's Family Tree
Back to William Bowles of Carlow
William Bowles b. ~ 1800
note:
there is an entry in the St Mary's Carlow register for the baptism of a
James Bowels on July 16, 1831 the son of a William Bowels and Elizabeth
Smith of Castle Hill, Grague, Carlow. That
wasn't actually a William Bowles, it was a clerical error in the register for
the baptism of a James Bower son of William Bower and
Elizabeth Smith At that time the people didn't sign their names in the
register themselves, a clerk would record the names and mistakes were not
infrequent.
m. Anne Byrne ~ 1836
(they were likely common-law as their children's baptismal entries in
the parish register are marked 'bastard' or 'spurious')
(records
show William lived on Dublin Road
around 1835 until at least 1863)

Bowles

8, 1837 Carlow

Anne were not married at that point, possibly because they were of
different religions)
