The Coopers of co. Carlow and Dublin

Back to The Early History of the Coopers in Carlow

I believe this very establishment Cooper line was related to another one, although of the Quaker faith, The Coopers of Coopers Hill, Queens county

See The Coopers of co. Carlow, Queens county and Dublin Deed Memorials for extract summaries of the deed memorials mentioned on this and the above mentioned two pages.

Two brothers, William and Thomas Cooper, would each become the senior administrator of the King's Chancery Court for Ireland although neither were to establish a male line of descent further than the next generation and so they are little remembered today.

William Cooper first appears on record in Dublin in 1720 when his brother Thomas leased two plots in Graigue, Queens county to William Cooper of Dublin, Gent. (memorial 28/98/16678)
